All-on-4® in Clifton Hill, VIC

The All-on-4® treatment concept uses four strategically placed dental implant screws to secure a full arch of teeth in place. Many patients find that treatment with the All-on-4 concept can help support oral function, including chewing and speech, when clinically appropriate.

A Modern Alternative to Dentures

The All-on-4 treatment concept is an implant-based approach designed to support a full arch of replacement teeth using four dental implants. Treatment timeframes vary depending on clinical needs and healing.

Some patients may receive a provisional (temporary) prosthesis soon after surgery, while others require a staged approach based on their individual circumstances.

The All-on-4 concept is a procedure for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth or for those who do not fit the criteria for traditional implants or bone grafting.

Benefits of the All-on-4

Potential advantages of the All-on-4 treatment concept may include:

• Replacement of multiple missing teeth with a fixed, implant-supported prosthesis
• Fewer implants required compared with some traditional methods
• Streamlined cleaning and maintenance routines
• Suitable for both the upper and lower jaw in many cases

Some patients report that implant-retained dentures feel more secure than removable ones, which may help them eat and speak more comfortably.

Individual results vary depending on bone health, overall oral condition, and healing response.

Designing All-on-4 Implant-Retained Dentures

You’ll be involved in the planning and design of your new restoration. Our dental team and technicians will consider factors such as fit, shade, and tooth shape to create a natural-looking result aligned with your preferences.

Dr Malamas uses modern equipment and technology to help support patient comfort and safety during All-on-4 procedures. Sedation and general anaesthetic options are available when clinically appropriate.

All surgical and sedation procedures carry potential risks and complications. Your dentist will discuss these with you in detail before your treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

People have presented to me many times over the past 29 years with complaints of their dentures not fitting, or that they can't chew their food properly or they have mouth pain due to their dentures.

Dentures in their basic design are inherently unstable. They are removableclose up of dentures | dentures clifton hill vic prosthesis that rely on suction to stay in place.

For example the upper demure covers the whole of the palate to achieve this, this can affect taste.

The lower jaw has a tongue and the floor of the mouth which are mobile so the amount of jaw to achieve suction is limited and the mobile floor of the mouth and tongue can lift the denture and cause painful ulcers.

So how can we make dentures more stable?

The simple answer is Titanium Implants. Titanium implants are Titanium screws that are drilled into the jaw bone and after a minimum of three months, the jaw bone fuses to them.

Once they are fused, we can place attachments on to the implants which with the corresponding clips attachments on the fitting surface of the denture clip together so the denture does not move and does not rely on suction.

Usually, the lower jaw only requires 2 implants and the upper needs 4 implants and no need for the palate.

The denture can be unclipped and cleaned as a normal denture. If someone wants a fixed option then implant-retained bridges can be made and they are not removable.

Do you think your smile would benefit from dentures? We invite you to call or email our dental clinic to get the consultation process started.

If you have missing teeth, it's crucial to get replacements so you can eat, speak, and smile with comfort and ease. Many dentists and patients consider dental implants to be the gold standard of tooth replacements, and there are several different kinds of dental implants available.

Implant-supported dentures, also called 'snap-in dentures', and All-onwoman and man dancing outside | dentist clifton hill-4 dental implants are two of many options. Both of these tooth replacement treatments use dental implants surgically placed in the jawbone, but they are very different.

Implant-Supported Denture vs All-on-4 Implants

An implant-supported denture is removable, while All-on-4 implants are permanent.

Implant-supported dentures consist of 2–6 implants in the patient's mouth, and the dentist creates a denture that 'snaps' into place. We recommend removing the denture for cleaning and sleep.

With All-on-4 dental implants, you can continue brushing and flossing as usual since they're very similar to natural teeth.

We also recommend visiting the dentist regularly to ensure your implant-supported dentures or All-on-4s stay secure and healthy.

If you have dentures that move or shift when you speak or eat, it’s time for a denture evaluation with your Clifton Hill dentist. Because of changes in bone structure, dentures need regular replacement every five to eight years, although those times can vary from patient to patient.older couple hugging on couch l dentist northcote

Relining the denture will provide a temporary solution to the problem, but with the modern options available today, many patients are finding themselves enjoying more of the foods they love with implant-retained denture systems such as All-on-4 dentures.

We Provide Personalized Dental Solutions

Using just four dental implants on the upper or lower arch, Dr Malamas creates a system for dentures to lock into place. All-on-4 also gives patients without teeth a convenient and reliable teeth replacement option in as little as one to three days.

We begin by evaluating bone levels and identifying the ideal location for dental implants. Designing custom dentures for individuals will result in natural looking teeth and gums that complement your appearance including gender, age and skin tone. Patients have an opportunity to discuss their goals for their new smiles.
