Dr Nick Malamas, BDSc. (Melb), B.Sc. (Melb)

Dr Nicholas Malamas is the principal dentist of Clifton Hill Dental and has proudly been caring for the dental needs of the residents of Clifton Hill and its surrounding suburbs since 1994.

He graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1991 and has since been continuously keeping up to date with the latest dental technology and techniques, particularly in the field of dental implants. He is particularly interested in the new advances in dental implants, All-On-4®, and reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr Malamas has completed a Master's program in implant dentistry at the University of California in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Australasia Osseointegration Society and has completed several short courses in this field. As part of this training, he completed a residency in Lisbon, Portugal, with Dr Palo Malo, the inventor of the 'All-On-4® teeth in a day' system.

Since starting the practice nearly 30 years ago, things have evolved and enhanced in the field of dentistry, and his passions have become more focused. Dr Edward Ounapuu, BDS(Adel)

Dr Edward Ounapuu joined the Clifton Hill Dental team in June 2019. Edward graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2010. Prior to moving to Clifton Hill Dental, he spent 8 years working in general dental practice in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs.

For Edward, the most rewarding part of dentistry is building meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients. He takes pride in explaining dental conditions and treatment options with clarity, helping patients feel confident and informed. Every procedure is approached with care, as Edward strives to ensure comfort and ease, making the dental experience as pleasant as possible. His goal is to ensure that every visit leaves patients with a positive feeling, transforming how they view dental care.

Edward is dedicated to continuously enhancing his skills and staying current with the latest advancements in dental technology to ensure the highest level of patient care. He has completed the 1-year Master Clinician Program in Implant Dentistry through the Global Institute of Dental Education and is an active member of the Australian Dental Association. He also regularly attends lectures with the Australian Society of Endodontology. Dr Jenny Zhuo, BHSc (Dent), MDent

Dr Jenny Zhuo is a dedicated and compassionate dental professional who brings almost a decade of experience to patient care and providing exceptional treatment. She graduated from La Trobe University in Bendigo and has since worked in both regional and metropolitan practices, providing care to patients of all ages.

Jenny is passionate about creating a calm and welcoming environment for all of her patients and works closely with the wider Clifton Hill Dental team to ensure seamless and personalised care. She believes that dentistry is a lifelong relationship and values the opportunity to support her patients at every stage of their oral health journey.

With a strong interest in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, Jenny appreciates how dentistry combines communication, problem-solving, and artistry to relieve pain, restore function, and build confidence.

Outside of the clinic, Jenny enjoys weightlifting, dining out, and focusing on her fitness. She has also played hockey since the age of 12 and has represented several clubs over the years.

Jessica Di Giandomenico, BOH (Latrobe)

Jessica grew up on a 20-acre farm in Eden Park before earning her Bachelor of Oral Health Science with an extended scope of practice at Latrobe University where she graduated in mid-2015. Jessica joined the Clifton Hill Dental team in early 2017. Before joining us, she worked in public community dental clinics across the peninsula and northern suburbs. 

‘My father once told me, "If you enjoy what you do, you will never work a day in your life". Coming from a creative background, I enjoy the hands-on work involved in both hygiene and restorative treatments. I especially enjoy helping my clients achieve their oral health goals.’

Because Jessica enjoys creative endeavours, you will find her making things in her spare time and doing crafts like woodworking, knitting or painting. She also spends plenty of time renovating her little house in Bendigo.

Jessica is passionate about travel and discovering different cultures and cuisines.

Eve Sutedja, BOH

Eve Sutedja earned her Bachelor of Science in Oral Health Therapy in 2016. Six years later, she attained her Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy (Advanced Clinical Practice). These qualify her to serve alongside our dentists and help provide numerous treatments, such as dental fillings, fissure sealants and periodontal therapy to resolve gum disease. She also actively educates our patients to help them gain a comprehensive understanding of their oral health. This also allows her to assemble personalised treatment plans that are clear and concise.

Among Eve's favourite things about dentistry is how she can motivate patients to activate a better oral hygiene routine to help safeguard their smiles. Though she has served at Clifton Hill Dental only since 2023, she truly values connecting with new and different people every day. In addition, Eve values the amazing relationships she has cultivated with our dental team and her patients. She hopes to instil in them the same love for dental care that she found at the age of 12.

In her spare time, Eve enjoys relaxing and watching movies. Having grown up in Perth, Eve is proud of her Malaysian and Indonesian roots, but one thing she's not a fan of is spicy foods.

Mayank Patel

Oral Health Therapist - DEN0002035232

Mayank Patel is an oral health therapist who has worked on and off with Clifton Hill Dental for almost a decade and we are so lucky to have him available to come on board full-time. He earned his BOH from Otago University and his post-graduate diploma in advanced dental therapy from the University of Melbourne. 

He loves the various challenges and differences patients bring and enjoys being part of a cohesive dental team. He wants people to feel at ease when visiting the dentist; exceptional patient outcomes are his priority.

Mayank is excited to be a permanent member of the Clifton Hill family and looks forward to serving you.

When he is not seeing patients, Mayank likes to go to the gym and play guitar. He is a movie buff and is heavily involved in cryptocurrency.

An interesting fact about Mayank is that he came very close to playing cricket professionally for New Zealand but found his passion for dentistry after a sports injury.

Serdar Bilal

Prosthetist - DEN0001018404

Serdar Bilal is the on-site prosthetist at Clifton Hill Dental, bringing a wealth of unique expertise to our team. While now an "official" member of our team, he has been working with the Clifton Hill Dental's Clinical Team for decades!

Serdar's presence ensures a quicker turnaround for our patients. He is proficient in creating quality dentures, performing denture relines and repairs, fabricating mouthguards, and crafting implant overdentures. Serdar takes great pride in creating beautiful prosthetics to enhance the smiles of our valued patients.
