Say Hello to Dr Emmy Li
Dr Emmy Li joined Clifton Hill Dental in 2023 after completing her DDS training at the University of Melbourne. She became interested in dentistry after her best friend’s sister kept encouraging her to consider the combination of science and art that goes into today’s modern dentistry.
What Is Dr Li’s Philosophy?
Dr Li understands that the dental environment can be distressing to patients, so she focuses on creating an environment where patients can relax and express themselves during their visits. Not only does she want to keep her patients calm and allow them to communicate openly with her about their oral health, but she also thoroughly enjoys all components of the clinical side of dentistry, such as restorative dentistry and oral surgery. In her opinion, dentistry is the best of both worlds.
Why Clifton Hill Dental?
Since Dr Li’s philosophy is centred on the balance between providing her patients with excellent clinical care and focusing on their comfort and oral health needs, Clifton Hill Dental was the ideal situation for her. She wanted to move beyond what she learned in dental school. Because Dr Malamas possessed extensive skills and talent in implants, endodontics, and advanced prosthodontics, it was the perfect fit. Dr Li is also excited about how advances in digital dentistry will improve her ability to help her patients.
Dr Li was thrilled by how quickly the team at Clifton Hill Dental welcomed her, and she loves that she can solely focus on her patients since everyone on the team is so skilled at what they do. It’s not all work, however. Dr Li says their team is fun-loving and enjoys Dua Lipa as they set up for the day.
What Does Dr Li Enjoy Outside of Dentistry?
When she’s not in the office, Dr Li trains in the Melbourne street dance community. She has spent almost ten years breakdancing, and her passion led her to co-found a not-for-profit clothing brand that uses its proceeds to fund community events and workshops that promote females in the street dance community. Her clothing brand also supports mental health awareness by donating to The Suicide Prevention Foundation.
